Mass in Horror

Besides what usually makes up horror works, these are the types of mass that can be found disgusting and inappropriate but make it into horror despite or because of it. Although these all show things that are natural in people and other creatures, they may be depicted in ways that are particularly unpleasant (although there are exceptions when it comes to nudity). But what they all have in common is that they might lead you to look away or cover your eyes.

Now, let’s see what they’re essentially about.

 Gross
Revolting and gag-inducing. Sights, sounds, smells, and more that you can imagine testing your tolerance for the dirty and the ugly. You don’t know how delicate your senses are until you are exposed to this level of undesirable.

 Gore
You may shriek away, picking up on pain and suffering that may or may not be there, but is projected anyway. Blood and guts are out in the open, coming through and falling out of wounds and cuts. The inside of organs shows clearly.

 Nudity
Arousing or quite the contrary, it can make you uncomfortable. Maybe for how it attracts you or maybe for how it repels you. They are lying bare for you to see, too little or too much, and you may not immediately know what to do with that.

What mass do you most avoid?
